How do I clean gel off the mat?

It may sound counter-intuitive, but cure the gel first. If gel drips on the mat, put it under your lamp for 30 to 60 seconds, then bend the mat and peel the hardened piece off in one go. Much easier than wiping wet gel around.

For everything else: alcohol wipe for spills, and rinse under warm water with a little dish soap for filing dust. Tip: use a lint roller to make a few passes to clear the dust.

Will acetone or gel remover damage it?

No. Silicone is non-porous, so acetone, alcohol, and gel remover sit on the surface rather than soaking in. They won't dissolve it, warp it, or leave it sticky.

It also handles the heat from a curing lamp sitting on top of it.

Does it lay flat after being rolled up?

It lays flat within a few minutes. The mat is rolled for shipping, not folded, so there are no creases. the corners may lift slightly when you first unroll it, and they settle on their own. After the first use it unrolls flat every time.
